Michele Dian Powell

Michele Dian Powell of Maysville was born on May 25, 1967 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Claudie “Corky” Somers and LaVerl (Holmes) Coffey Somers. She passed from this life on Saturday, January 21, 2017 in Oklahoma City at the age of 49 years. Michele has been a resident of Maysville all of her life, graduating from Maysville High School in 1986. She worked as a home caregiver for Health Care Innovations and was always great to call and check on people she knew. She married Danny Powell on May 26, 2012 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Michele enjoyed her family and friends and helping others when they had a need. She loved taking care of her goats and dogs and would always take in any stray animals when she could. She liked watching movies and traveling to see new things and places. Michele helped take care of Shaydon and Colton Jones when they were growing up, taking them camping and vacationing. She was a member of the Story Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her survivors include her husband, Danny of the home. A brother, Barry Coffey of Jefferson, Tennessee. Sister-in-law, Deborah Faulkner of Sevier County, Tennessee. Nephew, James Coffey of Sevier County, Tennessee. Michele was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, LaVerl and Claudie “Corky” Somers. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the Winans Funeral Home, 405 Sixth Street, Maysville, OK. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Story Baptist Church, Maysville with Bro. Tim Carr and Bro. Jim Hughes officiating.
