Walter A. Harmon, Jr. of Lindsay was born on August 5, 1930 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Walter A. and Dollie M. (Womack) Harmon. He passed from this life on August 6, 2016 in his home at the age of 86 years. Walter worked as a machinist and mechanic for Tinker Air Force Base, moving from Del City to Lindsay in 2000. He loved spending time with his family. Walter enjoyed fishing, gardening, keeping his lawn immaculate, playing the guitar, traveling, and playing cards and dominos. Walter was a member of the Erin Springs Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include his wife, Dorothy of the home in Lindsay. Sons, James A. Harmon and wife Linda of Foster and Vernon R. Harmon of Oklahoma City. Daughters, Barbara G. Hanes and husband John of Moore and Diana K. Sander and husband Robert of Prague. A sister, Billie D. Weathers of Anadarko. 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Erin Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Pauls Valley under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
