Lucy Lavada Johnson of Maysville was born on February 10, 1937 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Leslie and Carrie Bell (Dunacan) Sorrels. She passed from this life on Monday, July 11, 2016 at her home at the age of 79 years. Lucy lived in the Maysville area all of her life. On June 9, 1955 she married Ray G. Johnson in Pauls Valley and they had been married for 55 years at the time of Ray’s passing in 2011. She worked as a waitress in several cafes in the area. She loved her family and worked hard to provide for them in every way possible. Lucy enjoyed the outdoors, working in her bountiful gardens, raising her chickens, and canning food for her family. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Her survivors include her son, Gary Johnson of Maysville. Grandchildren, Timmy Johnson, Lisa Johnson Resendiz, and Bobby Joe Johnson. Great grandchildren, Kaleb, Carrie, Arriana Johnson, Seth Johnson, and Colton Stewart. Sister, Mary Wallace and husband Kenneth of Maysville. Brothers, Darryl Sorrels of Whitebead and Ray Sorrells and wife Barbara of Sentinel. A close family friend, Royce Richardson of Maysville. And a host of other relatives. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Carrie Sorrels; her husband, Ray Johnson; two sons, Bobby Ray Johnson and Timothy Dean Johnson; and a daughter, Carolyn Georgette Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Eastside Holiness Church with Bro. Steve Mayhan officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
