Buddy Lawson Adams, Sr.

Buddy Lawson Adams, Sr. of Lindsay was born on September 23, 1932 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Benjamin Franklin Adams and Zid Maud (Smith) Adams. He passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years. Buddy grew up in Lindsay and he went on to serve his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War where he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. He married Dolly Driskill on October 6, 1954. They made their home in New Mexico before moving back to Lindsay in 1977. Buddy worked as an oil refinery mechanic before retiring from Chevron after 38 years. In his younger years he liked to go hunting and fishing. He enjoyed his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all kids. A favorite pastime of his was watching the Western Channel. Buddy was a member of the Lindsay Church of Christ. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 61 ½ years, Dolly of the home. A son, Buddy Adams, Jr., and wife Sondra of Lindsay. Daughter, Dr. Marilyn Hines and husband Rick of Artesia, New Mexico. Brother, Bill Russell and wife Susie of Omaha, Nebraska. Sisters: Juanita Oster and husband Leon of Lancaster, California and Joy Duke of Bakersfield, California. Grandchildren: Becky and Bryn Erickson, Brandon and Crystal Hines, Byron and Jobie Hines, and Daniel and Ami Hines. Step-grandchildren: Natasha and Stanley Crapo, Kristina Gerard and James Cornelius, and Ronda Jack. Great Grandchildren: Jaiden Taylor, Brooklyn Erickson, Jakkob Hines, Kaleb Osborn, Everett Osborn, Bryna Erickson, Mira Hines, Ricky Ligon, Douglas Osborn, Layla Hines, Hannibal Hines, Tyler Osborn, William Ligon, and Jasper Walls. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Zid Adams and brothers, George Adams and Block Adams. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Lindsay Church of Christ with Richard Hines officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, Oklahoma under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, Oklahoma.
