Yvonne Strong-Shico was born on April 24, 1935 in Pernell, Oklahoma to Foster and Ina (Riggle) Crabb. She passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Hospice Quality Care in Del City, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years. Yvonne was raised on a farm in Pernell then moved to Criner, Oklahoma where she attended school and graduated. She attended church at Criner Baptist Church where she was saved and baptized as a young girl. She married Gerald Strong in 1953 and they had four children together, Beverly, Renee, Michael, and Lisa. Yvonne loved cooking and baking for her family and usually cooked Sunday dinners for the whole family. She enjoyed country music and dancing. She worked as a waitress and as a sales clerk at Eubank’s Department Store in Lindsay. Yvonne later married Donald Shico in 1982. She always kept a happy and loving spirit no matter what good or bad came her way and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her daughter, Renee Watson and husband Greg of Lindsay. Grandsons: Ryan, Eric, Jared, Shayne, Clint, Nick, and Zach. Great-grandchildren: Halee, Wayde, Bryndale, Kayden, Greyson, Jaxson , and Shelby. Yvonne was preceded in death by her son, Michael Dean Strong; husbands, Gerald Dean Strong and Donald Shico; and two daughters, Beverly Kay Gray and Lisa Kirk Todd. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Abundant Love Fellowship Church, Maysville with Rev. Danny Gamble officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
