Jerry Glen Stratton

Jerry Glen Stratton of Maysville was born on April 24, 1946 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Jack Tommy Stratton and Geraldine (Holt) Stratton. He passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in Maysville, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years. Jerry grew up in Oklahoma City, graduated from John Marshall High School and attended college briefly. However, he spent most of his adult life in Maysville, Oklahoma. He held a variety of jobs including mechanic, farmer, ranch hand, and machinist. He also worked in utility construction and assisted his son, Jason, at Stratton Motor Company. Jerry enjoyed getting up and going to work everyday and being around people. He loved spending time with his family and his coffee drinking buddies. He was known for going midnight shopping, for his love of animals and for his collection of unique items. Jerry was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Maysville. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his children: Jason Stratton and wife Shelly of Blanchard, Bridget Ballenger and husband Andrew of Fairfax, Virginia, and Jamie Gatton and husband Ben of Wichita, Kansas and Jakob Stratton of Maysville. Brothers: Jackie Stratton and wife Jo of Holly, Colorado and Jimmy Stratton and wife Jan of Salsbury, Massachusetts and a sister, Janette Dreadfulwater of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Grandchildren include: 1st Lieutenant Jerritt Larson, Jaxon and Jazmin Stratton, Madison, Asa, Samuel and Henry Ballenger, and Dexter Gatton. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Stratton and Geraldine Stratton; wife, Carol Stratton; and a niece, Morgan Stratton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, January 25, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, Maysville with Pastor Greg Ray and Pastor Mike Deviney officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at http://www.winansfuneralhome.com/
