Our loving mother Nancy Ann Ely died at home on Oct 10, 2015 in Mesquite, Texas surrounded by family and friends. Nancy Ann was born April 23, 1939 and was the third child of Claude Ely, Jr. and Gladys Marie (Hauser) Ely of Red Rock, Oklahoma. Nancy Ann spent most of her young life in Red Rock, Oklahoma with her family and grandmother Mable Washabaugh Wilson Franklin, brother and sister, Harvey Ely and Blanche Osborne. She was a graduate of Ponca City Senior High School Class of 1957. After which she married and moved to Texas. She lovingly raised six children and continued with her love of art. As the children grew and moved away, Nancy pursued a career in real estate, and continued her work as an Artist. She loved art in all forms and used many different mediums to express the world around her; although watercolor and acrylics were her favorite. She became a published Artist in 2006, with her book of collective works “The Brush Strokes of an American Women”. She never tired of teaching art and sharing her work with her family and friends. She never forgot her home in Red Rock and told many stories to her children and grandchildren of her days on the ranch and of her school friends. She leaves a rich legacy in her six children and their families which includes six grandchildren. Anne Luella (Russell) and Dr. Paul Piccirillo and granddaughter Eleanor Christine of Gustine, California; Gigi Renee (Russell) and James Ray Webb and granddaughter Laura Ashley of Maysville, Oklahoma; Laurinda Tarrega Russell and grandson Jeff Alan Roybal of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Ms. Jennifer Paige (Russell) Gammill of Mesquite, Texas; Amanda Nan (Russell) and Roy Harris and grandsons Paige Russell and Thomas Franklin of Euless, Texas; Joseph Evan Russell of Garland, Texas and granddaughter Shelby Taylor Page-Russell of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Brother, Harvey Ely and Naveda of Okarche, Oklahoma. Nieces, Reta Norton, Teresa Sayre, DeAnn Franklin, Linda Pyeatt, Libby Culpepper, and many cousins. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Blanche and Clair Osborne. Nancy Ann will return home to Red Rock on Tuesday, Oct 13, 2015 for her final celebration and to be honored by family and friends. Services to be held at the Red Rock Otoe Baptist Church at 12:30 pm with Pastor James Kenner officiating under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
