George Isam Adams

George Isam Adams of Lindsay was born on June 9, 1937 in Maysville, Oklahoma to Benjamin Franklin Adams and Zid (Smith) Russell. He passed from this life on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 in Oklahoma City at the age of 78 years. George attended school in Snyder and Lindsay. He served his country with the United States Navy in Vietnam, China, Japan, Germany, and the Equator. He married Barbara June Burton on February 24, 1962 in Durant, Oklahoma. George worked in construction as a sandblaster and painter, at Quality Auto Parts in Lindsay for 6 years, one of the owners of Elmore Construction in Lindsay, and operated Adams Wrecker Service from 1997- 2013. He was a member of Freewill Baptist Church and attended Banner Baptist. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include his wife of 53 years, June Adams of the home. Sons, Loyd Adams of Lindsay and Ben Adams and wife Pam of Lindsay. Brother, Buddy Adams and Dolly of Lindsay. Half-brother, Bill Russell and wife Susie of Omaha, Nebraska. Sisters, Joy Duke of Bakersfield, California and Juanita Oster and husband Leon of Lancaster, California. Sister-in-law, Wilma Adams of Lindsay. A granddaughter, Lee Ann Adams. and many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Block Adams, and brother-in-law Joe Duke. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, August 28, 2015 at Banner Baptist Church, Lindsay with Bro. Mark Smith, Bro. Bill Love, and Bro. Dennis Yates officiating.
