Karl Clayton “Skipper” Morton of Maysville was born on January 31, 1960 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to J. B and Imogene (Phillips) Morton. He passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015 in his home at the age of 55 years. Skipper lived in the Maysville area all of his life where he attended Maysville School and later obtained a GED. He worked in the oilfield as a driller. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and his Aunt Janell would cook his fish for him. Skipper liked shooting pool and was good enough to put opponents out of the tournaments. He enjoyed family time and especially aggravating his nieces and nephews so much that they would run and hide from him. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Maysville, where he played the drums with the praise band. Skipper will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include his son, Jonathan Blake Morton and fiancee Angel Barnett of Maysville. Mother Imogene Green and husband Bill of Maysville. Brothers: Earl Morton and wife Vickie; Huey Morton and wife Pam; Curtis Morton and wife Dana; and Keith Morton and wife Debbie, all of Maysville. A sister, Connie Sanchez and husband Robert of Lampasas, Texas A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. And his first grandchild is due December 26. Skipper was preceded in death by his father J.B. Morton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the First Assembly of God Church, Maysville with Rev. Billy Davenport officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville.
