Jimmy Duane George of Lindsay was born on December 27, 1937 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Joe Wesley and Gladys (Mauldin) George. He passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 in Lindsay at the age of 77 years. Jimmy lived in the Lindsay area most of his life, graduating from Lindsay High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War where he was involved in atomic testing. Jimmy married Geneva Holden in December 1962. He worked as an Air Craft Mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City for 20 years. He also worked in oilfield and dozer construction for DSC and Sooner. Jimmy enjoyed playing dominos at the Senior Citizens Center, visiting with people, gardening, and metal detecting. He was a member of the Erin Springs Baptist Church and the Lindsay American Legion. Jimmy will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include his wife Geneva of the home. Sons: Jimmy George and wife Karen of Lone Grove and Mark George and wife Becky of Foster. A brother, Wesley George and wife Vinita of Wynnewood. Grandchildren: Joe George, Jimmy George, Jackalyn George, Stormy Scyrkels, Tyler Goodman, Janice Laymanck, and Rianon Giangrasso. And 10 great grandchildren. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Thomas Ray George. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Erin Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, Oklahoma under the direction of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
