Nathanial Joe Bruner of Maysville passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015 at his home. He was born on September 2, 1929 in Alex, Oklahoma to Cromer and Pearlee (Burrous) Bruner. Joe grew up in Alex and then went on to join the U.S. Army where he served his country in the Korean War. He married Irene Bruner on September 1, 1962 in Durant, Oklahoma. They lived in several places before moving back to Maysville in 1967. Joe worked as a oilfield welder for several different companies such as Jack Hammer Construction, Warren Petroleum Plant, and he helped build the Alaskan Pipeline, where he traveled to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. He was always a good provider for his family, going wherever he could find work. Joe enjoyed restoring old cars and going places with his friends, Bill Bagwell, and W. K. Wallace to hunt down the parts. He liked to fish and make a vegetable garden every year, of course he was the boss at the end of the row. Joe enjoyed going to the Gas-n-Go on a daily basis to drink coffee and visit with everyone. He made a profession of faith on Sunday, May 31, 2015. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include his wife, Irene of the home. Daughters: Claudia Reeves of Maysville; Ingrid Page and husband Ricky of Pauls Valley; and Linda White of Maysville. A sister, Lois Fricke of Cave Junction, Oregon. 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; son Terry Bruner; grandson Justin White; sister, Opal Stephens; brothers, Jess, Louis, J.C., Ray, and Wayne; and his father and mother in-law, Ray and Addie Ward. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, June 8, 2015 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville with Rev. Danny Gamble officiating.
