Hazel Jean Woods

Hazel Jean Woods of Maysville was born on July 3, 1952 in Marlow, Oklahoma to James Paintney Wright and Lillian Hazel (Popejoy) Wright. She passed away on Monday, June 1, 2015 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 62 years. Hazel married Joe Dale Woods on August 28, 1970 in Chickasha. They moved to Maysville in 1977. She was a positive person who enjoyed life and the joy of her life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed family get- togethers and parties. Hazel was known as the family problem solver. She liked to watch the Cooking Channel. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her survivors include her husband, Joe of the home. Sons: Richard Woods and wife Jennifer of Ringling; Pete Woods and wife Samantha of Maysville; Nick Timmons and wife Taylor of Pauls Valley; and Travis Powers and wife Kim of Maysville. Daughters: Tamara Hinsley of Blackwell and Ammy Woods of Paoli. A sister, Virginia Wright of Chickasha. Brothers: Clarence Wright and wife Wanda of Maysville; James Wright and wife Jean of Lindsay; Bernard Wright and wife Mary Etta of Chickasha; and Troy Wright and wife Jean of Oklahoma City. 15 Grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, 2 infants and Winford Wright; and granddaughter, Paintney Skye. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Winans Funeral Home, Maysville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the First Assembly of God Church, Maysville with Bro. Gerald Stevens officiating.
