Morgan Mackenzie Smith

Morgan Mackenzie Smith, 17, of Lexington was born on October 7, 1997 in Norman, Oklahoma to Kevin Wayne Smith and Jennifer Lynn (Peebler) Axton. She gained her wings on Sunday, April 19, 2015 after a tragic auto accident. Our loss is heaven’s gain and none of us will be the same without her. Our world truly lost an angel. Morgan lived in Lexington all of her life, where she was a junior at Lexington High School. In school she was involved in cheerleading, FFA, Vo-Ag, softball, was on the academic honor rolls. She loved her truck, spending time with her friends, and country music. Morgan enjoyed anything that involved boots and mud like Jeepin’ and spending time at the lake. She liked the simple things in life. “Mother Bear Morgan” was always taking care of her friends. Morgan had a loving heart and infectious smile. She was a member of the Slaughterville Baptist Church. Her survivors include her parents, Kevin Smith of Lexington and Jennifer Axton of Pickens. Sisters, Danielle Smith and Maryssa Peebler, both of Lexington. Grandparents, Eureta Smith of Lexington and Kathy Peebler of Grants Pass, Oregon. Niece and Nephew, Leah Rodriguez and Max Montelongo both of Lexington. Aunt and Uncle, Sandra and David Thompson of Lexington. Cousins: Bradley Thompson, Terrell Thompson, Courtney Thompson and many more family and friends. Morgan was preceded in death by her grandfather, Bob Peebler and two uncles, Earl DeArman and Derrell Sadberry. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, April 24, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Purcell, Oklahoma.
