Darron Dee Pickett of Pauls Valley passed from this life on Saturday, November 1, 2014 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years old. He was born on December 29, 1947 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Alvin Levi and Lula Mae Belle (Fincher) Pickett. Dee was a lifetime resident of Garvin County and graduated from Wynnewood High School. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force while stationed in the Philippines. He had worked as a mechanic for Agee Equipment Company and did other mechanic and maintenance jobs around Garvin County. Dee was a “Jack of All Trades and Master of Most”. He enjoyed children and loved talking to people because he never met a stranger. He was content to be outdoors and liked to take drives through the countryside. Dee was known to have driven in reverse from the Brewer’s Drive-In to Wynnewood. He always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, shooting BB guns and going fishing. He was a man who was content with what he had. Dee attended the Antioch Cowboy Church. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include his son, Jamie Pickett and Kasi of Maysville. A daughter, Monica Pickett of Pauls Valley. Grandchildren: Katelynn, Olivia, Hunter, Colton, Jason, Taner, and Talynn. Brothers: Homer and Neta Pickett and Doyle Pickett, all of Pauls Valley. Sisters: Patsy and Jimmy Holt of Pauls Valley and Barbara Johnson of Norman. Brother-in-law, James Tobey of Pauls Valley. And a host of other relatives and friends. Dee was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy, Gary and Ray Dean Pickett; sister, Connie Tobey; and brother-in-law, Ray Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, Maysville with Bro. George Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
