Virginia Gamble formerly of Maysville passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014 at her home in Stringtown, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years. She was born on January 11, 1932 in Maysville, Oklahoma to John Eldon and Etolia Jewell (Longacre) Morphew. Virginia grew up in Maysville and lived there until moving to Stringtown in 1969. She married Noble R. Gamble in Gainesville, Texas on December 24, 1948 and he preceded her in death. They owned Noble Gamble Ford Sales in Maysville, where she worked as the secretary. After their move, Virginia ranched with her husband in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas while being based out of Stringtown. She could do any job that needed to be done on the ranch from working cattle to fixing fried chicken dinners for all of them. She liked to ride 4-wheelers to check the cattle or just to ride for fun. Virginia loved having Thanksgiving at her house. She enjoyed deer camp days and loved to go fishing. She liked to watch OU girl's basketball and Thunder basketball. Virginia was crazy about her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she was known to them as “Ninny” and “Granny”. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her survivors include her sons: Tim Gamble and wife Connie of Pauls Valley; Steve Gamble and wife Linda of Kiowa. Grandchildren: Brant and Cindy Gamble of Kiowa; Leyna and David Dominic of Kiowa, and Matthew and Amy Gamble of Tishomingo. Great grandchildren: Ashton Gamble of Kiowa, Dylon Gamble of Pauls Valley, Bailey Gamble of Dibble, Lacie Gamble of Kiowa, Reagan Dominic of Kiowa, Easton Dominic of Kiowa, and Reid Gamble of Tishomingo. Sister-in-law, Jane Reyes of Maysville. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Ottie Riddle of Pauls Valley. A close friend, Virginia Self of Stringtown. And a host of other relatives and friends. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, John Morphew and Jewell Patton; husband, Noble in 1998; a daughter, Sherrie Epperly in 2008; and a grandson, Christopher Gamble in 2010. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Monday, November 3, 3014 at Winans Funeral Home, Maysville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Abundant Love Fellowship with Rev. Danny Gamble and Rev. Becky Morphew officiating.
