Austin Jerry Brummett of Moore was born on August 23, 1936 in Maysville, Oklahoma to Dex and Ina Mae (Six) Brummett. He passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in Oklahoma City at the age of 78 years. Jerry grew up in Maysville, where he graduated from high school in 1954 and lived there until moving to Moore in 1967. While in school he worked as a mechanic for Don White. He served his country in the U. S. Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington. His wife Kathryn Irene Huff preceded him in death in 1994. Jerry worked for Tinker Air Force for awhile before going to work at FAA as an electronic technician and retired after 45 years of government work. He loved planes, trains, and automobiles. He would study the train schedules by listing to the scanner, liked going to air shows and building model planes, and was a member of Kinetic Kite Club. Jerry enjoyed his grandchildren and his great granddaughter. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include his daughter Nikki Owen of Oklahoma City. A sister, Dexene McGuire of Moore. Aunt, Noma Beck Six of Midland, Texas. Grandchildren: Jason Owen and Amanda Owen Great granddaughter, Mykayla Owen. and other relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Dex and Ina Mae Brummett; his wife, Kathryn; a daughter, Sabrina; and brother, Richard Brummett. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville with Dwight Brown officiating.
