Bill Ralph Stephens, 78, was born on October 22, 1935 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Marvin Dink and Nell (Bales) Stephens. He passed from this life on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at his daughter’s home in Purcell, Oklahoma. Bill attended school in Maysville where he graduated in 1953. He married Donna Joan Woodruff on May 20, 1955 in Maysville. After getting married he joined the U. S. Army where he served state side in Washington, Colorado, Louisiana, and then settling in Maysville. Bill worked as a farmer on his own land and was a FFA supporter helping his granddaughter, Cheyenne with her show animals. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter and great grandson. He liked to listen to Marty Robbins and Roy Orbison music. Bill became a member of the First Baptist Church of Maysville on March 15, 1952 and was currently a member of the Gideon Sunday School Class. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include his daughter, Vicki Herrington and husband Pee Wee of Purcell. Granddaughter, Cheyenne Wollenberg and husband Chad and great grandson, Reid Wollenberg. A nephew, Donny Stephens of Arizona and niece, Janet “Suzi” Mack of Midwest City. Sisters-in-law: Margaret Allen of Maysville and Dorothy Miller and husband Ray of Maysville. and a host of other relatives and many friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Dink and Nell Stephens; wife, Joan; a baby daughter, Robin Stephens; brothers, Don and Jim Stephens; and a niece, Jeanie Heinen. We appreciate and thank the Loving Care Hospice staff and the comfort they gave to him and our family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, Maysville with Rev. Steve Spangler and Bro. Chad Wollenberg officiating.
