Claudie Melvin Dennis of Bradley was born on June 23, 1934 in Bradley, Oklahoma to Johnny Robert Dennis and Ruth Agnes (Nelson) Dennis. He passed from this life on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years. Claudie lived in the Bradley, Dibble, Lindsay, and Chickasha areas during his lifetime, graduating from Dibble High School in 1955. He served his country in the U. S. Army - Field Artillery while stationed in Germany. He was married to Shirley Ann Dutton who preceded him in death in 2005. Claudie worked driving a bread truck, building horse trailers in Chickasha, and as a self-employed commercial janitor for 38 years where he cleaned several area businesses. He liked to play baseball and fast pitch softball. He enjoyed fishing, being around people, and loved his Falcon car. Claudie was a self-taught mechanic and referred to himself as a “Jack of All Trades”. He was a member and enjoyed ministering for the Jehovah Witness Ministries. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include his daughter, Donna Choate and husband Terry of Newcastle. A son, Kirt Douglas Dennis and Marilynn of Austin, Texas. Brothers: Roy Dennis of Dibble and Donnie Dennis of Hinton. Sisters: Mary Riddles of Claremore; Ada Cagle of Fitzgerald, Georgia; and Judy Allen of Ardmore. Grandchildren: Dusty Choate, Kyle Choate, August Dennis, Chris Choate, and Desiree Dennis. Great grandchildren: Presly Choate and Cambry Choate. and many nieces and nephews. Claudie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Dennis; brothers, Kenneth Dennis and Fred Dennis; and sisters, Dixie Carter and Edna Bean. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Bro. Steve Emerick officiating.
