Roy Dean Rowlett If Roy saw you reading this, he would tell you to “put down the paper and get back to work”. Those who knew him, knew that he was a ‘no-nonsense’ man. Roy was born December 1936, and passed away on Saturday, August 2nd, at home surrounded by his wife and daughters. Roy and his family moved to Maysville in 1980 where he was president of Farmers and Merchants Bank for almost 30 years. Before retirement, he became the proud owner of the Maysville Auto Bath, making him and Jeanne the car wash king and queen of the town. Roy retired from the bank in 2007 to devote his time to ranching. Raising cattle, bailing hay, and keeping the ranch immaculately manicured were his passions. There was never a dull moment, as he always found something that had to be done. Roy had a wry sense of humor and a ‘tell-it-like-it-is’ way of life. Ask him a question and you could count on an honest reply. His “coffee buddies” knew he could tell a story like no other. To his family, he was the ultimate practical joker, to the extent that you could never prank him back because you knew he would come back with something even more outrageous. Roy will be dearly missed by his wife, Jeanne, of the home. Daughters Lori Smith and husband Ronnie of Wynnewood; Becki LaMascus of Wynnewood; Grandchildren Dalton Rowlett , Sara LaMascus, Shelbi LaMascus, Logan Smith, Noah Smith and Beth Jarman Smith, and a granddaughter that’s great – Chandler Smith. Sisters Sharon Driggers and husband Ed of N Richland Hills, TX; Paula Berry and husband Russell of Abilene, TX and Jody Buckman of Hurst, TX; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bonnie Rowlett of Ft. Worth, TX. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 11th at 2 p.m. at Winans Funeral Home chapel in Maysville, OK.
