Lillie Bernice McNeely of Midwest City was born on July 26, 1926 in Paoli, Oklahoma to Dee Finas Pendley and Mary (Hill) Pendley. She passed away on July 7, 2014 in Midwest City at the age of 87 years. Bernice grew up in Paoli, where she graduated from High School. She married Elvin “Mac” McNeely on January 2, 1943 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. They moved to Maysville in 1950 where she lived until her illness in 1993. She worked as a proof reader for the Pauls Valley Democrat before going to work at the Garvin County Health Department as an administrative assistant and then as the Director of the Garvin County Elder Care Program where she worked until her retirement in 1991. Bernice like to read, sew, and collect depression glass. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Bernice was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Maysville and a member of the Eastern Star. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her survivors include her son, Gary McNeely of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Daughters: Mary Shea of Midwest City; and Peggy Jordan and husband John of Midwest City. A sister, Alma Joyce Harbin of Dallas, Texas. Grandchildren: Steve Bull, Amy Bull Brodeur, Russell McNeely, Teri McNeely Ratz, Kimberly McNeely Morgan, Tony Jordan, Kelly Jordan Albright and 9 great grandchildren. She also has numerous nephews and nieces. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents Dee and Mary Pendley; her husband Elvin “Mac” McNeely; a brother Dee F. Pendley Jr. and his wife Noreen; and brother-in-law Ed Harbin Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, July 11, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, Maysville with Dr. Dee Pendley III officiating.
