Lela Lavern Wigley of Maysville was born on October 27, 1924 in Wolf, Oklahoma to Lee and Mada (Rogers) Morphew. She passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in Lindsay, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years. Lavern lived in Maysville all of her life. She married Willis Preston "Pat" Wigley on June 21, 1941. She was a housewife and mother, but had also worked outside the home. Lavern worked for Wilbur Mays painting and finishing concrete yard ornaments, Gibson’s Store, and Storm Plastics. They did not have a television, so they enjoyed Saturday night gatherings for music and singing with her sisters and their families. Family was everything to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. She was a good cook and made the best chocolate pies. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Lavern was affiliated with the Church of Christ. Her survivors include her daughter, Boneta Arlene Weatherford of Ozark, Missouri. A son, James Ray Wigley and wife Clara of Maysville. Sister, Laverle Bratcher and husband Garland of Maysville. 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Laverne was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Mada Morphew; her husband Pat; a son Bobby Gene Wigley; son-in-law Johnny Weatherford; 2 sisters, Mary Reeves and Loree Hensley; and 2 brothers, Bobby Morphew and Lois Morphew. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, March 28, 2014 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville, OK.
