Glen Wilson of Maysville was born on March 17, 1924 in Paoli, Oklahoma to Virgil and Ethel (Anderson) Wilson. He passed away on March 2, 2014 in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years. While growing up, Glen attended Bethel School then he went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On August 12, 1946 he married Georgia Baker in Gainesville, Texas. In 1955 they moved from Wayne to Maysville where Glen worked as an engine mechanic at the Warren Plant until his retirement in 1972. He liked to work and had hand dug the cellar hole at their house. Glen enjoyed wood working like making a tator box and boot box for Glenda and building birdhouses for Dale. He was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include his wife Georgia of the home. Son, Dale Wilson and wife Angie of Newalla. A daughter Glenda (Wilson) Bennett and husband Don of Marietta. Brother, Andy Wilson and wife Nita of Neosho, Missouri. Sister, Ella (Rader) Spencer and husband Hugh of Fort Worth, Texas. Grandchildren: Heather McMahon, Holly Frankum, Ashley Winter, and Jeffrey Wilson. Great grandchildren: Carson McMahon, Courtlyn McMahon, Ashlyn Frankum, Jett Frankum, Khloe and Kade Winter, and Danica and Chloe Wilson.. Glen was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Pete; and sisters, Mildred and Fairy Bell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Church, Maysville with Rev. Billy Davenport and Rev. Gerald Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Paoli Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
