Robert Lonzo “Lon” Stewart of Maysville was born on December 14, 1925 in Foster, Oklahoma to Jim and Delia (Robert) Stewart. He passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in his home at the age of 88 years. Lon lived in Garvin County all of his life and worked as a roughneck in the oilfield. He married Amy Oleta Lambert on March 19, 1945 in Pauls Valley, OK and she preceded him in death in 1986. Lon was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed fishing with his grandkids and drinking coffee with his friends at the Gas & Go. He liked to tell old stories about his life and swapping and working on old cars. Lon was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Maysville. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. His survivors include his sons: Charles “Cowboy” Stewart and wife Deb of Tuska, Oklahoma and Robert Stewart and wife Lauryle of Vega, Texas. Daughters: Amy Lance and husband Max, Virginia Eldridge, and Tayana Richardson all of Maysville. A brother, L. C. Stewart of Lindsay. Sister, Noel Simms of California. 25 Grandchildren, 64 Great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Lon was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Delia Stewart; his wife Oleta Stewart; a son James Stewart; grandson Kevin Stewart; son-in-law Arlis Eldridge; 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, February 21, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Church, Maysville with Rev. Billy Davenport officiating.
