Richard Lee Huffines was born on December 22, 1952 in Oklahoma City, OK to Iris and Louise (Chandler) Huffines. He passed away on October 19, 2013 at the age of 60 in his home near Maysville with his loving family surrounding him. Richard was a resident of Maysville for 30 years. He married Kathy Yakel on May 24, 1981 in Oklahoma City. He worked as a torch operator for CMI Corporation for 13 years. Then Richard worked for18 years at the Department of Corrections as a Lieutenant Supervisor where he was a hostage negotiator and fire arms instructor. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, carpentry, and woodwork. He loved his family and always had fun with his girls especially at the amusement parks. Richard was saved and baptized on August 26, 1985 by Rev. Jim Paslay at the First Baptist Church in Maysville where he was a member for 28 years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include his wife, Kathy Huffines of the home. Daughters: Adrienne Huffines of Maysville; Felicia Lucas and husband Vance of Shawnee; and Bethnee Huffines of Maysville. Grandchildren: Gavin, Hannah, and Adriana Lucas of Shawnee. Mother, Louise Huffines of Wheatland, OK. Brothers: Mike Huffines and wife Gloria of Oklahoma City; Steve Huffines of Choctaw; and Tony Huffines of Mustang. A sister, Joyce. and other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his father and a brother Gene. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, October 21, 2013 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville with Bro. Tim Carr officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
