Thomas Aaron “Chicken Hawk” Smith of Norman was born on July 20, 1964 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Floyd A. and Sharon (Haley) Smith. He passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at his home in Norman after a brief illness at the age of 49 years. Tommy attended school at Wayne where he graduated from high school in 1982. All of his friends knew him by his nickname “Chicken Hawk”. He worked for many years at Chili’s and El Chico in Norman. He will be greatly missed. His survivors include his parents, Floyd and Sharon Smith of Mead, OK. Brother Rodney Smith and wife Diane of Mead. Aunts: Barbara Holland of Maysville and Tracy Haley of Ringgold, Louisiana. An uncle, Lloyd Smith of Purcell. Nephew, Ryan Smith of Ringling. Cousins: Shelly Caudle, Kim Webster, James and Rusty Webster all of Maysville; Deirdre Evans of Jamestown, Louisiana; Susan Spears of Purcell; Mary Clary and husband Steve of Purcell; Eric, Mathew, and Carrie Spears of Purcell. Great aunts: Pearl Abney of Wayne and Ruth Moore of Broken Bow. Tommy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Zetta Smith, grandmother Bessie Haley Cronian, cousin Lori Webster, and aunt Anita Smith. Tommy was an animal lover, so donations to a pet shelter would be appreciated. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville, OK.
