Rebecca Jean Gilmore Tomlin of Edmond passed from this life on Friday, August 23, 2013 in Edmond at the age of 43 years. She was born on June 30, 1970 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma to Robert Eugene Gilmore, Jr. and Bonnie Marie (McCaskill) Gilmore. Becky graduated from Elmore City High School in 1988, then went on to attend Central State College (UCO) in Edmond where she obtained a BS degree in Nursing. After college she went to work for Dr. Carl Rubenstein and then continued working with him and other cardiologists at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital for 18 years before leaving July 27. Becky was a registered nurse, but her passions included gardening, landscaping, caring and loving animals especially her dogs, collecting antiques and old things of all sorts, and using her unique creative talents to turn them into something extraordinary and beautiful. She and her grandmother, Beulah “Dink” McCaskill had a very deep love for each other. She was a special person who loved and was loved by many people. She will be missed. Becky attended the Disciple of Christ Church in Edmond. She is survived by her father, Bob Gilmore of Meridian, OK. Her daughter, Emily Tomlin. Sisters: Kathy Behlen of Oklahoma City; and Shannon Herrod and husband Kenny of Elmore City. Brothers: Pat Gilmore and wife Libby of Edmond; and Tom Gilmore and wife Sheila of Elmore City. Her special nephews: Michael Behlen, Alex Behlen, and Tom Behlen. Her good friend and former husband, Craig Tomlin. And numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins with whom she was very close. Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Gilmore in 2002; a brother, Michael Lee Gilmore in 2005; nephew, Michael Shane Gilmore; maternal grandparents, Boochie E.and Beulah B. “Dink” McCaskill; paternal grandparents, Robert E. Gilmore, Sr. and Ruby Strauss. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Abundant Love Fellowship with Rev. Danny Gamble officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
