Ida Racine Townley

Ida Racine Townley of Maysville was born on July 14, 1932 in Magnolia, Arkansas to Herbert Lee Prater and Ella Francis (Elledge) Prater. She passed from this life on Monday, August 5, 2013 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years. Racine married Doyle Townley on March 18, 1950 in Spring Hill, Louisiana. While living in Arizona, she worked in the school and cafeteria. The family lived in Duncan and later moved to Maysville in 1983. Racine worked as a cook for 17 years at McCaskill Nursing Home in Maysville. She enjoyed her dog Sassy, fishing, crossword puzzles, playing Skip-Bo, and all sports, especially OU. She loved spending time with her family and watching Caleb play football. Racine was a member of the Abundant Love Fellowship. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her survivors include her daughter, Norma Townley of Maysville. Sons: Randy Townley and wife Cindy of Decatur, Texas and Rodney Townley and wife Torie of Maysville. Brothers: Ernest Prater of Garland, Texas and Paul Prater of Magnolia, Arkansas. Grandchildren: Randy Townley, Jeremy Townley, Stephanie Townley, Amber Zeck, Rachel King, Caleb Townley, and Jamie Townley. Great grandchildren: Jessica, Hannah, Skye, Randi,Jase, Bryce, Sophie, Ezra, Jehrra, Taylor, Tylor, and James. And other relatives and friends. Racine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyle; brothers, James Prater and John L. Prater; sister, Betty Jo Prater; and great grandson, Chance. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Abundant Love Fellowship, Maysville with Rev. Danny Gamble officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
