Kenneth "Mad Dog" Wayne Mattingly

Kenneth Wayne “Mad Dog” Mattingly, 50, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on July 30th 2013 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born on the 20th of January 1963 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Norma (Prince) Mattingly. For the past 11 years, he has been fighting kidney disease. Kenneth Wayne moved to Maysville from Chickasha in 1978. In 1981 he graduated from Maysville High School, where he was active in Key Club, FFA, weight lifting, and football. He married Shirley Rowan on January 29, 1981 at Hillcrest United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. Kenneth Wayne worked for several years as a machinist for Beaver Tool. In 1991 they moved from Maysville to Oklahoma City. He enjoyed taking his girls to the farm to play. He liked fishing, hunting, guns, and loved Washington Redskins football. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 32years, Shirley Mattingly of the home in Oklahoma City; daughters, Michelle Boykin of Oklahoma City and Samantha Coleman of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Aaron Coleman, Mackenzie, and Sylus Boykin brother, Kelly Mattingly of Stillwater, Minnesota; nieces: Brandy Fleischfresser of Fargo, North Dakota, Grace and Hannah Mattingly of Stillwater, Minnesota; and nephew, Joshua Mattingly of Stillwater, Minnesota. Also a multitude of friends, who are blessed with the memories of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Norma Mattingly and his sister, Tammy Mattingly all of Maysville. Kenneth Wayne will be laid to rest with his family in the Maysville Cemetery. Kenneth Wayne’s family wishes to thank all those that kept him in their prayers and thoughts. The family wants to extend a special thank you to the staff of Fresineus Dialysis Center in Oklahoma City, where he was a patient for over 10 years. They were very gracious and kind to him throughout the years. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, August 2, 2013 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville, OK with Lt. John Autry officiating.
