Murray "Jim" Annon Dickinson, Jr.

Murray “Jim” Dickinson of Rosedale passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013 in Maysville at the age of 86 years. He was born on December 18, 1926 in Wayne, Oklahoma to Murray A. Dickinson, Sr. and Nora (Gray) Dickinson. Jim was a graduate of Warner Junior College and he met his wife, Virginia Lee Edgemon, while they were both students there. He served his country in the U. S. Army in Germany. Jim was retired from the State of Oklahoma Highway Department where he worked as an inspector and maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, the senior citizens dances, watching OU Football, the Western Channel, his dogs, and horseback riding. He loved going out to eat with Kim. Jim was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church. He moved to Maysville in December 2012 to live with his daughter, Terri. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. Survivors include his sons: Joe Dickinson and wife Teresa of Choctaw; and Bradley Lane Dickinson and wife Sonya of Pauls Valley. Daughters: Brooke Eads and husband Ron of Dallas, Texas; Kathy McClure and husband James of Tulsa; Terri Smith of Maysville; Donna Norman and husband Joel of Pauls Valley; and Kim Dickinson of the home in Rosedale. 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchildren. And many other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia; 6 brothers, Ed, Alfred, Barney, Herman, Paul, and Athel; 3 sisters, Beulah, Teddy, and Daisy. The family greatly appreciates Loving Care Hospice in Purcell, especially Victoria Guerra and Kaylyn Alexander, and private nurse, Toni St. John. Graveside services will be held at 5:00 pm, Friday, July 12, 2013 in the Rosedale Cemetery, Rosedale, Oklahoma with Rev. Michael Ridgway officiating. Burial will be under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
