Alice Arvine Reese of Maysville passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in Gainesville, Texas at the age of 84 years. She was born on December 28, 1928 at home in Wayne, Oklahoma to James Henry Gabbard and Lucy (Foutch) Gabbard. Alice Arvine Gabbard and Kenneth Eugene Reese were married on August 9, 1947 in Maysville, OK by Reverend P. E. High. Kenneth retired from Atlantic Richfield Oil Company and they and their family moved several times but always considered Maysville their home and came back in 1988 to retire. Alice was retired from the electronics department of Weber Aircraft in Gainesville, Texas where she was one of the first employees hired. Kenneth always grew a big garden and Alice canned the vegetables and made lots of jelly. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Alice loved to fish. After Kenneth passed away, she found her enjoyment in dancing several times a week and made many precious friends doing so. She was famous for her banana pudding and enjoyed sharing the recipe with others. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Maysville and Donald Gillham’s Sunday School Class. Alice will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her son, Stanley Reese of Gainesville, Texas. Daugher, Rita Covington and husband Larry of Gainesville, Texas. Grandchildren: Kevin Reese and wife Kathy of Rio Vista, Texas; Daniel Reese and wife Mallory of Denton, Texas; Joshua Covington and wife April of Celina, Texas; Alison Rogers and husband Dave of Wylie, Texas. Great Grandchildren: Krissa Reese and Kailey Reese of Rio Vista, Texas; Jack and Lucy Rogers of Wylie, Texas; and Ryder Covington of Celina, Texas. Sister, Ruby Scott and husband Leon of Mead, Oklahoma and many other relatives and friends. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and Henry Gabbard; her husband, Kenneth Reese; a son, Hal Reese; and sisters, Iva Moore and June Parker. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, May 20, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, Maysville, OK with Rev. Steve Spangler officiating.
