Roger Alan Smith of Lindsay passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in Lindsay, Oklahoma at the age of 55 years. He was born on July 1, 1957 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Cecil Duncan Smith and Freida Marie (Johnson) Smith. Roger lived in Lindsay all of his life and attended Lindsay Public Schools. He married Connie Jordan on February 27, 1985. He worked in the oilfield and as a mechanic working on diesel tractors and other machinery for Willie Rushing. Roger enjoyed working with his Boxer dogs and at one time he had 30 puppies at the same time. He fed his dogs real well. Roger was saved in the Missionary Baptist Church in Lindsay. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include his wife, Connie of the home in Lindsay. Mother, Freida Smith of Lindsay. Daughters: Crystal Dondalson of Oklahoma City and Misty Cowan of Lexington. Brothers: Randall D. Smith of Lawton; Rodney Smith and wife, Skeeter of Lindsay; and Robert Smith of Lindsay. Grandchildren: Kyle Shaffer, Sela Dondalson, Bethany Dondalson, Anthony Powell, and Willie John. and many other relatives and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his father, Cecil in 2011; fraternal grandparents, Jim and Ollie Smith; and maternal grandparents, Carl and Violet Johnson. Pallbearers are Caleb Smith, Cody Smith, Zach Smith, Gary Woods, Michael Cowan, and Gary Smith. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Missionary Baptist Church in Lindsay, OK with Rev. Dennis Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com
