Alice Elaine Scoggins

Alice Elaine Scoggins of Maysville passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 in her home with her loving family by her side at the age of 68 years. She was born on February 25, 1944 in Modesto, California to Orgie and Thelma (Taylor) Risley. Alice attended school in Vian, Oklahoma. She married Harold Scoggins on October 18, 1960 in Stigler, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and had lived in Maysville for 41 years. Alice was the rock of her family and she loved spending time with family and friends. She was loving, funny, and loved to joke around. She would always find the good in everybody and her home was always opened to anybody. Alice was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. Her survivors include Harold, her husband of 52 years of the home. A daughter, Murna Herrington and husband Ronald of Maysville. Sons: Linkey Scoggins and Bill Scoggins, both of the home; Joe Scoggins and wife Lisa of Lexington; and David Scoggins and wife Leah of Ardmore. 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. And a host of other relatives and friends. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Orgie and Thelma Risley; a son, Derik Scoggins; and 2 half-brothers, Odel Ray and Lesley Ray. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Heartland Hospice, 1923 Atchison Drive, Norman, OK 73069. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 7, 2013 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville, OK with Rev. Barry Clagg officiating.
