Lonnie Eugene Maples, Sr. of Lindsay passed away at his home in Lindsay on Monday, October 1, 2012 at the age of 64 years. He was born on February 21, 1948 in Wasco, California to Alonzo Maples and Mary Francis (Dodd) Maples. Lonnie moved from Commerce, OK to Lindsay four years ago. He had worked as a self-employed logger and became an ordained minister in 1990. Lonnie evangelized for several years traveling all over the state of Oklahoma. He was a volunteer chaplain at the Lindsay Manor Nursing Home and liked to play music at the nursing home and Senior Citizen Center in Lindsay. Lonnie was a member and Elder of the Grace Full Gospel Lighthouse in Lindsay. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Janetta Maples of the home in Lindsay, OK. Sons: Billy Sanborn of Cherokee, OK; Lonnie Maples, Jr. of Andrews, Texas; Jeramy Maples of Oklahoma City; and Jason Maples of Lindsay, OK. Daughters: Shauna Walker of Woodward, OK; Angie Hallberg of Fort Supply, OK; Amanda Nevills of Lindsay, OK; and Lanetta Faria of Grove, OK. Brothers: Hubert Maples of Miami, OK; Louis Deviney Woodward, OK; Chris Deviney of Woodward, OK; and Charles Deviney, Jr. of Bethany, OK; and Jerry Deviney of Woodward, OK. Sisters: Sandra Cron of Fairland, OK; Patsy Gillmore of Miami, OK; Connie Byrn of Fort Supply, OK; Judy Tindell of Woodward, OK; Linda Mitchell of Woodward, OK. 33 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents: Alonzo and Wanda Maples and Charles and Mary Francis Deviney; a son, Michael Maples; sister, Brenda Deviney; and a grandson, Nicholas Sanborn. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Grace Full Gospel Lighthouse in Lindsay, OK with Lafayette Randle, Dennis Milburn, Kay Snowden, and Martha Mitchell officiating.
