Mary Ruth Goodwin, 91, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at her daughters home in Lindsay. She was born on January 24, 1921 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Otis and Annie Clair (McCoy) Hopper. Mary lived in Oklahoma most of her life. She had worked at the Munsingwear factory in Hominy, where she was instrumental in starting the union there. Mary also worked at a factory in Sapulpa making pop bottles and for the Frito-Lay Company in Texas. She had a good sense of humor and liked to joke around, teasing others, and was very ornery. Mary loved and spoiled her children and grandchildren, but was also very strict and would discipline them when they needed it. She enjoyed animals, camping, and living in the country. Mary also had the talent to quilt and crochet. She loved to talk about Jesus and was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Mary will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her survivors include her sons: William Otis Totten and Norman Eugene Totten, both of Wynona, OK and Robert B. Barnett of Keota, OK. A daughter, Barbara Ann Terrel of Lindsay. 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Goodwin and a son, Johnny Douglas Barnett. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Hominy with burial will be in the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery.
