Sammy Don Williams passed away on Friday, July 13, 2012 at his home near Elmore City, OK at the age of 75 years. He was born January 25, 1937 in Maysville, OK to Samuel Riley and Beulah Mae (Russell) Williams. Sammy grew up in Maysville attending school through 11th grade and then graduated while in the Air Force. He served his country for 4 years in the United States Air Force stationed in Japan. In the early 1970's, he drew the cartoon “Little Andy” for the Maysville News. Sammy married Paula Lee Blaine on June 30, 1979 in Maysville. He worked as a pumper for Union Oil of California for 23 years. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Sammy loved all animals and even raised geese, peacocks, chickens, goats, and cows. He liked to play dominoes weekly at the Satterwhite Store. He could play the banjo, guitar, and harmonica. Sammy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hennepin. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. His survivors include his wife, Paula of the home. Sons: Sammy Ray Williams of Maysville; Larry Don Williams and wife Kim of Lindsay; James Lynn Williams and wife Darci of Pauls Valley. Step-sons: Mike Blaine and wife Linda of Norman; Stephen Blaine of Norman. Daughters: Robin Williams of Maysville and Kimberly Gail Fenner and husband Steve of Pauls Valley. Step-daughters: Colleen Guthery and husband Dean of Saligma, Arizona and Susie McCoy and husband Mike of Tuttle. Sister, Wanoka “Nokie” Gail Box of Purcell. 12 Grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. And many other relatives and friends. Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Beulah Williams; a brother, John Bill Williams; and 2 sisters, Oleta Lawson and Wanda Hudson. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Hennepin Cemetery Fund. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 16, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Hennepin with Rev. Roger Sims officiating.
