Martha Lucille Ellis of Jenks, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years. She was born July 7, 1922 in Peggs, Oklahoma to Ernest and Minnie (Hatfield) Burns. Lucille graduated from Pawhuska, Oklahoma. In 1943 she married Calvin Henry Ellis in Vandalia, Illinois. They lived in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma while Calvin worked for Winans Funeral Home and then later moved to Bakersfield, California. While living in California, Calvin managed Kern County Gin and Lucille was the bookkeeper. She enjoyed traveling and bird watching, especially cardinals. Her survivors include, a son, William Edward Ellis of Jenks. Daughter, Genevieve Jordan of Washington. Sisters: Beatrice Kimbrell of McKinney, Texas; Mildred Jackson of Walling, OK; and Verda Lee Pearce of Broken Arrow, OK. Grandchildren: Shelley Ann Jordan of Tigard, Oregon and Melinda Pugh. And 1 great grandchild. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calvin in 1977; a baby brother; and three sisters, Grace, Florine, and Mabelle. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville, OK.
