Kelly Joe Blanks of Vernon, Texas passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 48 years. He was born on February 22, 1964 in Amarillo, Texas to Joe and Geneva (Woodard) Blanks. Kelly lived in the Amarillo area most of his life, before moving to Vernon in 1990 to live with his mother. He graduated from Tascosa High School in Amarillo, Texas. Kelly attended a floral design school and enjoyed doing floral arranging for weddings and funerals. He had also worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart. Kelly was baptized in the First Christian Church in Amarillo and was most recently attending the Lutheran Church in Vernon, Texas. He enjoyed being involved in church and loved to sing. Kelly will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His survivors include his mother, Geneva Blanks of Vernon, Texas. Brothers: Kim Goodner and his wife, Tina of Noble, OK; Dewey Goodner and his wife, Dianna of Seymore, Texas; and Danny Goodner and his wife, Marcena of Seymore, Texas. And a number of nieces and nephews. Kelly was preceded in death by his father, Joe Blanks. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 4, 2012 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville, OK with Rev. Steve Spangler officiating.
