Lura Beatrice Gandy, 85, of Maysville passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Lindsay Manor Nursing Home. She was born on March 31, 1926 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Thomas and Flora Alice (Lee) Williams. Bea grew up in the Purcell, Washington, and Woody Chapel area, graduating from Washington High School. She married William Perry Gandy on December 19, 1945 in Oklahoma City. In 1970 they moved from Purcell to Maysville. Bea lived in Maysville for 42 years working as a nurse’s aide in area nursing homes. Bea enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, crocheting, flowers, and cooking for her family. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Maysville and her church was very important to her. She loved to sing in church and always prayed for her family. Bea will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Her survivors include a son, Chris Gandy of Maysville. Daughters: Lecretia Henderson of Maysville; Trena White of Lindsay; and Shonda Powell and husband, Melvin of Maysville. Daughter-in-law, Linda Gandy. 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Bea was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Perry; son, Joe; great granddaughter, Shilah; 2 sons-in-law; 3 brothers and 6 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Davenport officiating.
