William Dewayne Brooks of Maysville passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Pauls Valley General Hospital at the age of 61 years. He was born on January 23, 1951 in Wynnewood, OK to William “Bill” and Lena (Russell) Brooks. Dewayne grew up in Lindsay, graduating from high school there in 1969. He married Norma “ Jo” Talbot on July 11, 1969 in Dibble, Okla. Dewayne served as a chauffeur in the U. S. Army at West Point from 1971 to 1973. He was employed in the oilfield for 39 years. He worked at Ram Energy for 10 years as a Drilling and Work over Supervisor before retiring in April due to illness. Dewayne enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles in Poker Runs where he would always donate his winnings back to the cause. He was a beloved husband, grandpa, friend, and dad who spoiled his boys. Dewayne loved his grandchildren and his dog, Abigail. He was a member of the Love Baptist Church in Antioch. Dewayne will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His is survived and loved by his wife of 43 years, Norma “ Jo” of the home in Maysville. Sons: Kevin Joe Brooks and his wife, George Anna of Henryetta, Oklahoma; William Chad Brooks and wife, Jessie Viola of Chickasha; and Derrick Dewayne Brooks of Maysville. Brother, Russell Brooks of Dibble. Sisters: Shirley Robinson of Lindsay, OK; Ramona Self of Belton, Texas; and Pat Martin of Oklahoma City. 4 Grandchildren: Kirsten Fay Brooks, Chad Daniel Brooks, William Franklin Joe Brooks, and George Aunistee Brooks. And many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Dewayne was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Pete and Sylvia Russell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Love Baptist Church, Antioch with Rev. Mark Frost officiating.
