Jewel Dean Weldon, 82, of Lindsay passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Marlow Manor Nursing Home in Marlow, OK. She was born on January 21, 1930 at Spiro, Oklahoma to Lonzo and Clara (Lemons) Young. Jewel was a homemaker who had made her home in the Dibble area before moving to Lindsay. She was married to Marion Tommy Weldon who preceded her in death in 1988. Jewel and Tommy loved to minister in nursing homes by playing the guitar and singing. She enjoyed sewing, camping, fishing, gardening, canning her garden produce, and playing Yahtzee. Jewel loved raising her granddaughters. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her son, Calvin Wesley Haynes of Lindsay. Daughter, Barbara Ann Wood of Tulsa. Sister, Mary Lois Martin of McAlester. 9 grandchildren: Sharon Odum, Debbie Harrell, Toni Kringlen, Betty Mize, Barbie Tarver, Billy Muncy, Bonnie Haynes, Michael Haynes, and Wesley Haynes. And 26 great grandchildren. Jewel was preceded in death by her husband and sons, Robert Michael Haynes and Terry Eugene Haynes. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 30, 2012 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville with Pastor Jean Patterson officiating.
