Morgan LeAnn Stratton passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the Pauls Valley General Hospital following a tragic motorcycle accident. She was 14 years old. Morgan was born July 18, 1997 at Ada, Oklahoma to Thomas Cary Stratton and Kellie Dawn Davis-Stratton. Morgan has lived in Maysville all of her life, where she attended school until this year. She is currently a student at Norman North where she is studying French and is a member of the Agri-Science Club. Morgan has been active in track where she participated in jumping hurdles and the long jump; basketball; playing the flute and tuba in band; and playing volleyball at the Community Club in Pauls Valley. She enjoyed spelunking, motorcycle riding, target practice, and riding her horse, Little Guy on trail drives with her grandmother. Morgan liked dancing and had participated in the “Okie Stompers” clog dancing with her mom at the watermelon festival. She was a member of the Gifted and Talented class at school and her goal was to become a veterinarian because she loved animals and farming. Morgan worked with Doyle Williams training horses. She was afraid of nothing and enjoyed dare devil rides at Six Flags. Morgan was such a compassionate person that she once donated her hair to “Locks of Love” and when her mother was sick she became her rock of support and took care of her. She even helped her mom by being her backup photographer. Morgan attended the Abundant Love Fellowship where she was active in the youth group. Survivors include her parents, Cary Stratton of Maysville and Kellie Davis-Stratton of Norman. Brothers: Cody Alan Stratton of Norman and Cary Johnathon “C.J.” Stratton and his wife, Christina and daughter, Kyndrah of Slaughterville. Grandparents: Marilen and Fred Fitzgerald of Maysville; Jackie and Jo Stratton of Holly, Colorado; and Donna Stratton of Oklahoma City. Great grandparents, Jack and Shirley Stratton of Lexington. Aunt Stace Moran Claudill of Midwest City; Aunt Christy and Robert Spencer and children Kenzie, Taylor, and Abbie of Maysville; Uncle Cory and Jen Davis and their children, Jeffrey and Sara of Tecumseh. Morgan was preceded in death by a cousin, Richard Charles Don Davis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the Assembly of God Church, Maysville, OK with Rev. Danny Gamble and Toby Wilmot officiating. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
