Winnie Woodruff Born: March 4, 1919 in the Randolph Community to Lee and Lina Bell High. Died: August 31, 2011 at her home in Maysville. Age: 92 Mrs. Woodruff was a lifetime resident of this area. She attended school at Cottonwood, southwest of Maysville and graduated from Hughes Consolidated about 1937. On June 29, 1940 Winnie was married to Ray Woodruff in Maysville by Rev. P.E. High. Winnie was a homemaker, loved horse shows, and church work. She loved her family, loved to bake, and deliver bread to people. Winnie was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Maysville where she has served as Sunday School Class Treasurer, a Sunday School Teacher, and sang in the Choir. Survivors include her nieces and nephews: Bob High of Wichita, Kansas; Rose Snelgrooes of Elmore City; Gemey Lackey of Morris, Oklahoma; Marqueta Simmons of Athens, Texas; and Rick High of Denton, Texas. Brother-in-law, Bo Woodruff of Woodward, Oklahoma. Sister-in-law, Bernice Reynolds of Oklahoma City. And by other relatives and many friends made throughout the years. Winnie is preceded in death by her husband Ray; her parents, and brother Foy High and his wife Emma. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm. September 3, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church of Maysville with burial in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville.
