Mildred Imogene (Van Schuyver) Hobson of Maysville was born November 3, 1928 in Chism, Oklahoma to Louis Van Schuyver and Florence Beulah (Haney) Van Schuyver and passed away from this life at her home on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the age of 82. Mildred lived most of her life in Maysville. She married Bill Hobson on October 10, 1947 in DeRidder, Louisiana. She and Bill raised four children together. She was very active in her community and was a member of a home extension club. She supported her children in class parties, banquets, 4H club, Honor Society, and many other school activities. She cared for and served her husband, children, extended family, friends, and her neighbors. She led by example. She was employed for several years at the Maysville school cafeteria. She was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church of Wayne and was active in the WMA. She enjoyed cooking (especially making pies for her grandchildren) attending church activities, swimming with her friends at the Bosa Center, and spending time with her family. Mildred was survived by her husband, Bill of the home; a son, Joe Hobson and wife Sharon of Comanche, Oklahoma; 3 daughters, Diana Sullivan and husband Patrick of Stratford, Oklahoma; Teresa Kitchen and husband John of Moore, Oklahoma and Melanie Porter and husband Dennis of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; 2 brothers; L.G. Van Schuyver and wife Veta of Purcell, Oklahoma and Herman Van Schuyver of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren; an Aunt, Neoma Wilmot of Maysville. Mildred was preceded in death by: her parents, 1 brother, Dennis Van Schuyver and 2 sisters in law, Kitty Van Schuyver and Marjorie Van Schuyver. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Unity Missionary Baptist Church, % Paul Hardcastle, 613 Marland, Purcell, OK 73080 in her memory. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville, OK with Rev. Randy Rhea officiating.
