James W. Snelson

James W. Snelson, 59, of Lindsay passed from this life on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Lindsay Manor Nursing Home. He was born December 16, 1951 at Ardmore, Oklahoma to William Otto and Dorothy Mae (Weldon) Snelson. James grew up in the Lindsay area. He was a painter and sandblaster working on water towers, where he had been employed with Luckinbill. James lived in Drummond before moving back to Lindsay last September. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. James was affiliated with the Baptist Church. His survivors include his son, Michael Snelson and his wife, Anne of Auburn, New York. A daughter, Lori Sanders and her husband, Johnny of Clifton, Texas. Sister, Alice Smith and her husband, Lindle of Lindsay, Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Christopher Snelson and Conner Snelson of Auburn, New York; and Makayla Sanders and Nate Sanders of Clifton, Texas. Special friends, Buddy and Sondra Adams. And numerous nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harvey Weldon, Steve Snelson, and Ray Snelson. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Green Hill Cemetery at Lindsay, OK. If inclement weather, services will be held at Winans Funeral Home Chapel, Maysville, OK.
