Craig West, 61, of Lindsay died Monday, January 24, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born September 27, 1949 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Cyril Alvin and Muriel Lorraine (Webb) West. Craig grew up in Purdy and graduated from Lindsay High School in 1968. In 1969 he joined the U. S. Air Force where he served his country for 18 months working as an air traffic controller and civil engineer. Craig was a gun collector, enjoyed anything about air crafts, and cars. He could talk at length on any of these subjects. Craig was affiliated with the Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his sisters: Gay Lynne Sharp and her husband, Steve of Wylie, Texas; and Janet Williams and her husband, Kent of Lindsay. Aunts and uncles: Lois and Lelon Morris; Doris and Mark Horning; and Glen J. Webb. Nieces and nephews: Shannon Newcomer, Brent Williams, Stephanie Carter, and Drew Sharp. Craig was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Timothy Hudson West. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Erin Springs Baptist Church Building Fund. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Erin Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Hicks officiating.
