Lawrence “Larry” Wayne Powell, 61, of Lindsay, Oklahoma died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born January 8, 1950 at Puyallup, Washington to John Thomas and Betty Jean (Manning) Powell. While growing up, Larry attended school in Oklahoma City and Lindsay. He served his country in the U. S. Navy for 4 years. Larry worked 8 years as an auto technician at Lindsay Ford. He was a strong family man who enjoyed spending time with his family. Larry like to watch television especially western movies and wear western shirts. He enjoyed cooking and teasing his wife, Minnie. Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include: his wife, Minnie of the home in Lindsay. Sons: Tommy Powell of San Diego, CA; Christopher Powell of Minneapolis, MN; Anthony Powell of Elmore City, OK; Shane Morse of Oklahoma City; and Phillip Smith of Norman, OK. Daughters: Wanda Byrd of Elmore City, OK; Shawna Potts of Kansas City, KS; and Sunni Traywick of Norman, OK. Brother, Randy Powell and his wife, Diane of Lindsay. Sister, Barbara Moore and her husband, Michael of Foster. 27 grandchildren Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Kathy Morris. No services are planned at this time.
