Alice A. Smith

Alice Angeline Smith age 79 of Maysville died suddenly of a heart attack on Monday, August 2, 2010 at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born September 16, 1930 at Alberta, Alabama to William Thomas and Sallie Ann (Ethiredge) Nims. Alice and Eugene Smith were married May 4, 1965. They had lived in the Maysville area before moving into town in 1987. Alice liked country music, dancing, and cooking. She enjoyed her family, traveling, and walking her dog. Alice and Eugene would go to The New Joyce’s Cafe almost daily to visit with their friends. She was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church. Alice will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Eugene of the home in Maysville Daughters: Joyce Rolin and her husband, Sam of Sulphur; Lois Smith of Ada; Renee Pruitt of Pauls Valley; Sherri Cox and her husband, John of Chickasha; Mary Smith of Blackwell, Oklahoma Step-daughter, Imogene Gage and her husband, Noble of Helena, Oklahoma 16 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and by many other relatives and friends Alice was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Harry Pruitt; a daughter, Ann Watson; a brother, Willie Nims; and a sister, Julie Bender. Funeralservices will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, August 6, 2010 at Winans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bo Gibbs officiating.
