Shirley Ann Ward

Shirley Ann Ward, 63, of Elmore City went to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born on May 5, 1946 to Bill and Mavis (Pickens) Ward in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Shirley was a lifelong resident of the Maysville and Elmore City area. She attended school at Story and Maysville. Shirley loved to cook and made it her occupation by working at restaurants and nursing homes. She enjoyed her nieces and nephews. Shirley greatest joy in life was being with and taking care of her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her father, Bill, A brother, Kenneth Ward and a sister, Mary Ann Ward, Niece, Danielle O’Neal, a great niece, Breanna Ward and a great nephew, Jonathan Ward all of the home in Elmore City. A niece, Regina Ream and a great nephew, Zachary Ream of Oklahoma City. 7 aunts: Hazel Carroll of Edmond, Gracie Johnson of Katie, Minnie Heard of Del City, Wanda Blake of Salinas, California, Frances Ward of Meeker, Jean Starling of Troutdale, Oregon, Glenna Moore of Portland, Oregon. 2 uncles: D. C. “Sonny” Ward of Meeker and Calvin Pickens of Eugene, Oregon. And a host of cousins and friends, all of whom loved her very much. She was preceded in death by her mother and a nephew, Jason Ward. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Elmore City, OK with Dr. Bruce McCray officiating.
