C. N. “Nealis” Madden, 90, of Maysville passed from this life at his home north of Maysville with his loving family surrounding him on Friday, May 28, 2010. He was born on March 26, 1920 at Portia, Arkansas to John Ecekial and Conariaus (Bottoms) Madden. Nealis moved to this area when he was 3 years old. His wife, Opal, preceded him in death. Nealis had worked for McClain County District #1. He was a farmer, cattle rancher, and gardener. Nealis enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, playing dominos, telling stories, and making “Big Gardens”. He would bring his produce to town to sell and give away. Nealis always wanted to help people. He was a Chrisitian. Nealis will be dearly missed by all his family and many friends. Survivors include his sons: Jacob Madden and Dan Madden. His daughters: Wanda Tucker, Pat Chronister, and Judy White. A brother, Nathan Madden. Sisters, Abagail Jones and Ester King. 39 grandchildren, 89 great grandchildren, and 24 great great grandchildren. And by many other relatives. Nealis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Opal; sons, Bill, Andy, Frank, and Eugene; and daughter, Betty Thompson. Funeral Services were held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 29, 2010 at his home with burial in the Washington Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, Oklahoma.
