Howard Lee Johnson was born June 20, 1935 at Elmore City, Oklahoma to Herbert Gale and Virgie Pearl Potter Johnson. He passed from this life on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at his home at the age of 74. Howard was a lifetime resident of the Elmore City and Maysville areas. On February 1, 1958 he married Bobbie Nell Williams. Howard had done farming for George Kizziar, drove a tank truck for Bullard’s, and operated the sanitation truck for the City of Maysville. He was an outdoor person, and he enjoyed working on his home place and taking care of all his animals. Howard was a member of the First Baptist Church in Maysville. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Howard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bobbie of the home. A son, Chris Johnson of Maysville. 3 daughters: Patty McDonald and her husband, Terry of Lexington; Brenda Johnson of Maysville; and Cindy McDaniel and her husband, Marvin of Maysville. 2 sisters: Violet Madden of Maysville and Daphne Kennedy and her husband, Doc of Wayne. 7 grandchildren: Ray, Veta, Deborah Jo, Brylan, Brady, Lynnsi, and Ryder. and 3 great grandchildren: Angel, Damien, and J.T. and numerous family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sharon Robinson; a grandson, Eric Robinson; 3 brothers, Gale, Donald, and Odell. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 8, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, Maysville, OK. Rev. Charles Henthorn and Rev. Steve Moore will officiate with burial in the Elmore City Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
